Middleweight Designer Midlands £ Negotiable Due to increased demands we are now excited to be searching for a Mid-Level Development Engineer/Designer with experience working for Luxury Point of Sale and Retail companies. We are looking for someone with around three years experience working as a Development Designer in the industry we have enjoyed working in since the 1980's to join and strengthen our team and who can hit the ground running into the role. Reporting to the Head of Development, the successful candidate will be extremely proficient using SolidWorks. The role will involve fully developing and engineering designs and producing full manufacturing packs for entire Free Standing Stores and retail environments for well-known brands and retail clients. Experience working with woodwork (joinery background will be advantageous), metal and plastic fabrication, will be essential. Key responsibilities: • Deliver fully developed production designs as required. • Always strive to reduce the cost per project of the development and production process as measured by the job costing system. (Overheads and direct manufacturing costs). • Present the Company in the most professional manner and with charm to clients, collaboration partners, and suppliers. • Ensure that all production solutions are faithful to the client brief and brand guidelines, achievable to the agreed budget, practicable, and able to be manufactured at best possible margin. • Actively seek out and propose alternate, cost effective materials, production processes, and suppliers. • Produce finished drawings complete with all detail required to allow purchasing and manufacture without further reference to yourself. • Produce instruction sheets and load up guides as required for client projects etc. • Attend and complete surveys at client sites’ and provide detailed accurate information to production dept. • Provide all information needed in a timely fashion, to ensure project delivery to Client expectations. • Remain current with existing and new software developments. • Work personally in a clean, safe and tidy fashion ensuring all safe working practices are followed, including activities undertaken away from the office. • Be presentable, communicate well, and have a full driving license
