The main job purpose of the LIMS Specialist is:
To work in conjunction with the LIMS Implementation Officer to design, configure and validate LabVantage LIMS. This will involve liaising with external contractors and or personnel seconded from within BPL, as appropriate, in order to achieve this.
Key duties and responsibilities will include:
To work in conjunction with the LIMS Implementation officer to design, configure and validate LabVantage LIMS in line with current work pathways as structured on SQL*LIMS.
To familiarise themselves with the structure and set up of the work pathways, events, customisations and templates on the current SQL*LIMS system.
Liaising with QC Laboratory and Production and LabVantage personnel in order to scope out what templates and data are required on LabVantage LIMS.
To transfer data from existing SQL*LIMS system where required onto LabVantage LIMS.
Designing and building Template data and reports on LabVantage LIMS.
To train appropriate BPL personnel where required in the use of LabVantage LIMS.
To provide data and advise on the setting up and management of data of LabVantage LIMS.
To work to agreed timelines and targets to ensure that the project schedule is adhered to.
Ensure information concerning donors, customers and other members of staff is treated as confidential.
Ensure that the Health and Safety Policies, Standard Operating Procedures and Policies are adhered to at all times.
Adhere to and demonstrate commitment towards the implementation and continuing review of the Quality System.
To promote compliance with policies, procedures, cGMP and regulatory developments with LIMS users to ensure that LabVantage LIMS is used correctly.
The successful candidate will have:
* HND/HNC/Degree in Science
* 5 years lab experience
* Knowledge of LIMS (LabVantage or Sapphire)
* Good communication skills
* The ability to work independently as well as part of a team,
* A high level of computer literacy
* Previous experience of training others on system upgrades
