This is an agile project being delivered using Scrum. Description of Tasks The Oracle APEX Developer will be required to work on the following tasks: To undertake application design and development work to ensure delivery of robust Oracle APEX applications to meet the needs of the customers, inline with the business requirements.To develop and execute unit tests and automated web browser tests.To work closely with other members of the development team, the Product Owner, requirements analysts and testers on an ongoing basis.To contribute during sprint planning meetings, daily stand-ups and retrospectives and demonstrate software delivered to stakeholders during sprint reviews.Tasks will also include production of relevant technical documentation to support the application to the standards specified by the IAS Software Development Standards and in support of the ITIL Service Design Pack (SDP). To contribute, as required, to the production of user stories.Provision of ad hoc development support as necessary, to ensure the developed application successfully transitions through system testing for subsequent deployment into the live hosting environment.Functional Contractor Requirements Essential Skills. It is essential the selected incumbent has the following skills: A minimum of 5 years recent experience using Oracle Application Express (APEX) 4 or 5A minimum of 5 years recent experience using SQL and PL/SQL with Oracle Database 10g, 11g or 12cA minimum of 5 years recent experience using HTML, JavaScript, CSS, AJAX and JQueryA minimum of 5 years recent experience securing APEX Applications using the built in security functions.A minimum of 24 months experience using ApexSec Security Console to diagnose security issues within APEX Applications and provide the necessary fixes.A minimum of 12 months experience using Oracle BI Publisher 11gA minimum of 12 months experience Oracle Enterprise Linux 5.x or Red Hat Linux 6.xA minimum of 12 months experience Batch, Perl and Shell ScriptingExperience of working in agile teams is required and must possess a willingness to be part of a highly collaborative team and to work closely with the customer.JetBrains TeamCity 9.x or similar CI toolsMicrosoft Team Foundation Server 2013 Desirable skills. The following skills are desirable and are not pre-requisites: Requirements capture and analysisWorking within a Data Warehousing ProjectExperience using a software configuration management system, such as GITVMWare ESXiExperience of working in a military environment and dealing with military personnel. Non-Functional Contractor Requirements Sponsor. The Sponsor is ultimately responsible for agreeing tasks with the selected incumbent, however, this is likely to be delegated for routine matters. Workplace induction process. this basic package satisfies a range of administrative requirements such as, yet not limited to, health and safety; equality and diversity; and fire awareness. Candidates are to note this is a mandatory requirement for all staff. Candidates who are not willing to complete successfully this basic training package are to withdraw their application. Security clearance. All incumbents should have the necessary security clearance to be able to access MOD premises and information up to SECRET - UK EYES ONLY; this is the Defence Business Services National Security Vetting Security Check (DBS NSV SC) level of vetting. Incumbents are to follow both the letter and spirit of Army Headquarters security regulations. Primary working site. Andover; this represents the usual place of work. On rare occasions it may be necessary to visit other locations for short periods.Standard business hours.standard working day is 7.5 hours between 08:30 hrs and 17:30 hrs. Individuals are expected to comply with working practices.Contracted working days. This is for a max of 110 contracted working days.
